I’ve been writing poetry for a while. Some for reading, some for performing. Some for both. A lot of what I produce is about nature and is featured on my blog, here are a few others.
The glory days I’ve heard of
For glory days we yearn
We hearken to their legend
We long for their return
Tally ho chaps!
I’d love to stop for a natter
But I’m on my new penny farthing you see
I’ve no time for dilly dallying
Ta Ta for now!
LISTEN TO ME YOU ME YOU MORON! LET ME TELL YOU WHAT I WANT
Once there was a Mottlegill, that in a field had grown.
All by himself the mushroom cried “I wish I weren’t alone!”
And lo! A second Mottlegill sprung from the grassy floor
A third, a fourth, a fifth, a sixth and more and more and more!
Everybody wants my blood
In everyone there is a spring of joy held in their breast
Some days it runs, sometimes its slow, sometimes it takes a rest
Let me tell you about a time that I remember well
A time my fountain overflowed for reasons none can tell
One day I went a walking
In woods that once were mine
Though time had dulled their lustre
Those woods were looking fine
Walking twisted corridors, I feel the mounting strain
Till simple chance and happenstance returns me here again
Notes long since forgotten plucked on strings of memory
What slips the grasp of mind emotion clutches easily
